A while back, I wrote a story, "The Incredible SHR Inc. Woman," based on a series of mock ads created by MasterMini for SHR Inc. The original story also was based on some detailed notes about SHR Inc. MasterMini forwarded to me in response to a request. That story led to a sequel, "SHR Inc. Wrap," which I just finished posting.

To my delight, I saw that the story had, in turn, inspired MasterMini to make a new SHR Inc. ad, the first in a while. Here's a link to it. SHR Inc. Ad Neo by MasterMini

This is what I love about collaboration; it leads to inspiration. Sharing ideas can be one of the best elements of the creative process. After all, look how much work at dA is fan art of fan fiction; those are creative efforts inspirted by the work of others.

I'm seeing this in action on the comics I've been working on at giantessfan.com The collaboration with Geo has made for a better story than what I originally envisioned, and working together with the artists to bring the art to life has been amazing. Here's a link to the cover art for one of those comics, "Bigger Than This," at giantessfan.com's dA page:

There are more previews of pages from the comics I've written for them.

Collaboration can be a great thing for boosting creativity, and for inspiring ideas. Don't be afraid to share things, at least a bit, unless there are rights issues involved (you do have to protect yourself where those are concerned). Collaboration can lead to better work.
